Last Sunday marked our final Cars, Bikes & Coffee event for 2022 and as always it was a real treat for us to see all the sheet metal eye candy that turned out to help us celebrate the end of another great year. It’s interesting to note that we only had two of these events in 2022, but I guess that’s better than none at all. Thanks COVID…
Whatever the case, we’re always grateful to see just how many passionate owners forgo their Sunday sleep-ins just to make their way here and to share in the passion that we all love so much.
Unlike the weather at our last show, the god of internal combustion really turned on a great display with fantastic temps and a clear blue sky to boot. That made our photographer Andrew a very happy camper; the results of his handiwork is what you can see here.
And speaking or handiwork, if you need any metal shaping, MIG & TIG welding, welding courses, body restoration, car customising, body building, car customising, metal-shaping, panel beating, restoration or vehicle body works services, make sure you talk to us first.
Highlights of the show for us included the lovely Porsche 912 you see above, the stunning Holden Special shown at the top of the page and a ton of other great wheels including a huge ’59 Oldsmobile Super 88, a bunch of Mazda rotaries, many classic Mustangs and the usual assortment of other Aussie classics.
With tickets free MotoRRetro welding lessons on offer, we handed out two of them to the best car and bike on the day as judged by us. After quite a bit of discussion amongst the MotoRRetro team regarding a rather tasty blue Holden EK, the final winners we decided.
Best car of the day went to Steve and his Buick Super. What a car! And for the bikes, the appearance of Andy Dorr from the Sydney custom bikes shop Sabotage Motorcycles and his freshly customised Honda CX500 cafe racer kind of sealed the deal for all of us. It really just blew the doors – or wheels as the case may be – off the competition.
Season’s greeting to you all and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all at our next Cars, Bikes & Coffee event in 2023! And if you have any questions about any of the MotorRetro services or classes in the meantime, don’t be a stranger – contact us here.
